TV: Biel Evolved: The Sinner - Finale Reviewed

Posted By themoviesleuth on Movies

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - A great character study shows emotional momentum and dramatic movement from its central players. In a short span, USA Network's jarring hit show accomplished things that we never typically get from the television format. Setting a tone that continued across this piece of nearly cinematic work, it used pulsating music, hard hitting emotion, and brutal pain to inflict scars on its viewership that will be felt for years to come. The Sinner was a genius crime story that pulled no punches. From sensual doom and gloom to highly rendered bloody beach murder, the event series is how TV should be done. It asks its viewers to push past the turmoil, sexual deviancy, and religious zealotry to find answers. Much like the characters in the show, we were forced to the edge of sanity as a story

Blu Reviewed: Arrow Video's The Slayer

Posted By themoviesleuth on Movies

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Given the title, I'm thinking it'sprobably The Slayer...Arrow Video has really dug deep into the obscure corners of cult filmdom this time around, and has unearthed a slasher film which has a good word-of-mouth reputation among serious connoisseurs of the genre, yet is very rarely actually seen. The Slayer has a certain amount of notoriety for two reasons: firstly, it was among the notorious banned-in-the-UK “video nasties,” and secondly, its old VHS releases boasted some eye-grabbing cover art which burned itself into the retinas of many a kid growing up in the video store era. But despite being much talked-about in certain horror-lover circles for those reasons, this film has been notoriously difficult to find pretty much since the 1980s. In the US, its only home media release was a big

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Perhaps the most divisive movie of the summer, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets was a verifiable box office disaster. The film barely took in a small percentage of its huge budget, crashing and burning with almost no hope of a sequel any time soon. News: SyFy Orders George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers To Series

Posted By themoviesleuth on Movies

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -   A few months back we reported that SyFy was working on a pilot for a new translation of George R.R. Martin's Nightflyers as a pilot. Apparently, they're so impressed with how it's coming out that they've already green lit the entire first season. Originally published as a science fiction short in 1980 by Analog Science Fiction and Fact, the story was turned into a 1987 film that didn't do very well at the box office. It starred '80s female lead Catherine Mary Stewart. Now with Martin's Game of Thrones prepping its concluding season, another one of his properties may become a huge hit for the SyFy in partnership with Netflix. If they can put a reasonable budget behind the show, the cable outlet may be able to bring over a lot of HBO's viewership for this series. Although M
