Posted By JLHILLEARY 959 days ago on Personal - Once when we were gathering coats and used clothing to take out to the refugee camps in Azerbaijan, I remember the shock at seeing the reaction of families. Once everyone realized it was clothing and not money being handed out, they turned and left.

I was caught off-guard. There was such a mix of emotion. At first I was confused, then indignant.

As I thought about the incident from what might have been their point of view, I became embarrassed, thinking we had inadvertently shamed the people of this camp.

What just happened?
