Love how you said, "Try complimenting other people." So true. Sometimes it is helpful when a person is seeking something, to give that very something. That doesn't necessarily mean they will get it in return, but it sure feels good :)

The real skill is to give sincere compliments without expecting anything in return. people have a 6th sense and can usually detect when a compliment is intended to get something in return.

Confidence is surely something that people these days are lacking. This is especially true when you see people try new things. You are right on when you suggest people to practice or keep doing whatever it is. It is how it made me comfortable with falling to the ground while doing martial arts.
