I am finally done with the completion of our second Airbnb! I recently shared the first unit in this post and can’t wait to give you all the details on our second unit!Both of our airbnbs have been up and running for about a month now and we have already learned so much. Keep an eye out for a post in the future on how my husband and I are managing them, what tools we use, etc. In the meantime I want to share with you all the design details I used in this unit.

Today’s design is largely influenced by the Mid-Century Modern and Scandinavian influence. It is light and airy, keeping the space open and free from that “stuffy” formal feeling. It’s the start of another week which means is must be MOOD BOARD MONDAY! Today I am featuring a more modern design with pops of color that I recently did for a client moving to a new house. They wanted something fresh and a little more modern while still keeping the feel of the space inviting. They key was to add lots of bold colors-my trick to doing this without making the space seem overwhelming is to keep a neutral consistent throughout. I did this by using the navy furniture and white walls as an anchor. The fireplace was originally brick and made the space seem dark and small, so we painted it white to match the walls. This added a lot of light to the space and really helped open it up.

Want to know my go-to for cheap and easy ways to transform a living room or bedroom? Throw Pillows!!! They can be relatively inexpensive and a great option for a room refresh without having to buy all knew furniture. Just swap out some pillows and you’ve got a whole new look!

Happy Monday! To start off the week I have another Mood Board for you. This one is an office space that I recently did for a client. She wanted something fresh and modern feeling that incorporated the very popular color combo of blue and blush pink. Per the client’s request, I used blue and blush pink as the central color theme with fresh white walls to keep the office space crisp, clean and modern looking.

With Fourth of July this week and lots of fun family BBQs planned it has gotten me seriously thinking about my outdoor space. I will be the first to admit that I do not have a green thumb. I am not particularly patient when it comes to plants and lack any serious desire to garden. But I do so enjoy a lovely landscaped yard with designated lounge space to enjoy the best of summer in. Keeping in mind my lack of landscape skills I have been trying to find easy outdoor solutions that still look great. I compiled some of my favorite finds so far-and who knows, hopefully in the near future I’ll tackle my jungle of weeds and get serious about designing my backyard.

Lately I have been obsessing over window treatments and the instant transformation it can make in a room. I personally am a big fan of the current velvet trend and am hoping it lasts awhile. This past year my husband and I moved into the historic neighborhood of Aksarben in Omaha, NE. We purchased a triplex with the intent of living in one of the units and renting out the other two. The home has darling post-war architecture with rounded doorways and built-in bookshelves. I have long been a fan of all things vintage, retro and mid-century modern, so upon first seeing this empty shell I not only fell in love immediately but could see all kinds of potential to come!
