You Might Be The Killer – Two Buffyverse Alums in an Underseen Slasher Comedy That Deserves More Love

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Courtesy: Screen Media FilmsSomehow I totally missed it when You Might Be The Killer debuted as a Shudder original in December 2018. It's not difficult to see how an indie title like this could slip through the cracks: there certainly is no shortage of semi-satirical throwbacks to classic 1980s slashers, and it would be doubly easy to overlook a streaming original that wasn't exactly a high-profile release (not to mention that Shudder has grown quite a bit in terms of reach and popularity in the two and a half years since this film came out). But even so, as the long-time Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan that I am, I'm not sure how I managed to be totally unaware of the release of a horror-comedy starring two Buffyverse alums: Willow herself, Alyson Hannigan, and Cabin in the Woods and

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - On May 28th 1966, Walt Disney hosted 36 officials, hundreds of journalists and 16 children from around the world for the opening ceremony of the “It’s A Small World” attraction in Disneyland. The international event culminated with each of the children pouring a vial of water from the world’s “seven seas and nine major lagoons” into the ride’s river, with Walt Disney adding water from the Rivers of America. Originally designed by Disney for Pepsi-Cola’s 1964 World’s Fair pavilion as a salute to UNICEF and the children of the world, the attraction’s opening ceremony is a perfect symbol of the idealism behind the post war drive towards a globalized economy.Fast forward fifty-plus years and the realities of globalization have been less than ideal. Since 1980, China has seen a significant shi

“I was a bet?!”: Introducing Jodea-2021 (Reviewed)

Posted By themoviesleuth 1210 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - The romcom feels like a lost genre. Sure, Netflix has kept it sputtering along with one or two a year to varying results but there was a time when the romcom was a can’t miss prospect for studios. Two movie stars fall in love, a litany of fun supporting players surround them, hijinks ensue, watch the magic happen. In a time where studios are committed to IP and capturing the next Marvel-like success, movies for adults have been relegated to scraps. Thankfully, the indie scene is absolutely littered with the kinds of films Hollywood used to make. One such offering is Introducing Jodea from director Jon Cohen. Unfortunately, this stunningly regressive effort isn’t going to reignite the genre any time soon. Written by and starring Chloe Traicos, Introducing Jodea follows fast food worki

Swallow Your Soul: The Evil Dead Rise Heads to HBO MAX

Posted By themoviesleuth 1212 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Just last year it was announced that the Evil Dead would be returning in another movie that would be directly connected to the original trilogy of films but would not feature Bruce Campbell's Ash in a central role. Officially titled at The Evil Dead Rise, the movie was initially going to be a theatrical release with both Campbell and Raimi on board as producers. Today, that all changed. It's just been announced that the movie has officially been picked up by HBO for a streaming release on their HBO MAX outlet. Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground) will be directing this fourth film in the original chronology. A quick synopsis is: "The next chapter in the saga builds off the original trilogy rather than the 2013 reboot. Evil Dead rise moves the action out of the woods and into the

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Courtesy of the Toranite CompanyHBO is so desperate for content in the streaming wars, they are dumpster diving. Literally. That's right, The Garbage Pail Kids are back. HBO Max and Danny McBride are teaming up with Michael Eisner's Toranite Company to produce a Garbage Pail Kids animated series for the streamer. The trading cards first appeared in 1985. They were so popular in schools with kids, they had to be banned with teachers citing how disruptive they were for classes. They were so popular, they received their own movie in 1987. A movie so good, it won the Palme d'Or and the Academy Awards. Just kidding, it was a notorious flop with a zero percent on Rotten Tomatoes and was quickly rushed out of theaters. Due to sales drops, Topps discontinued the cards in

Posted By themoviesleuth 1214 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Photo Courtesy of Boom! StudiosIt is almost surprising that Something is Killing the Children is still an ongoing series. Initially planned as a five-issue limited series, but extended due to early popularity, Something is Killing the Children #15 could have served as a fairly neat, albeit mysterious conclusion to the series. Now, with issue #16 (written by James Tynion IV with art by Werther Dell’edera) serving as the start of the fourth arc of the story, the narrative is looking more exciting than ever. Something is Killing the Children centered on the town of Archer’s Peak, where children had been going missing, and those that weren’t missing were claiming terrible monsters were the culprits. Enter Erica Slaughter, a newcomer to the town who is more mysterious than the case she arrived

After a rather lackluster launch for the team up in David Ayer's 2016 movie, many of the characters are returning for a sequel of sorts that gives them another chance at theatrical glory. Just released today from Gunn's Instagram account, a new image dropped that includes the quote, "Squad Undercover in Corto Maltese: Ratcatcher 2, The Thinker, Bloodsport, and Polka Dot Man in The Suicide Squad".The upcoming movie features John Cena, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Peter Capaldi, Jai Courtney, Sylvester Stallone and numerous others in a more colorful take on the DC branded comic book characters

No Easy Way Out: Stallone Releases Poster for the Rocky IV: Director's Cut and Name Change Announced

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  For the last year, director and actor Sylvester Stallone has been toiling with his new cut of the classic boxing sequel, Rocky IV. Initially released in 1985, it is one of the most iconic of the franchise as it's the film that took the Cold War between the U.S. and Russia and turned it into a sports film loaded with training montages and an amazing soundtrack of '80s era rock songs. Apparently, Stallone was never happy with the final product that was released to theaters and decided after Creed II that it was time to revisit the film with an updated cut that would match his vision for the movie. The new edit will actually be receiving a new title as well. This director's cut has been officially named Rocky vs Drago: The Ultimate Director's Cut. It will remove some of the goofie

The release of A Quiet Place Part II has seen great success in its first weekend of its theatrical run. The movie was delayed over a year due to the pandemic and even saw Emily Blunt and John Krasinski do financial battle with the studio. But now, their path is clear to setting their sights on a massive haul this weekend, with the biggest IMAX opening since this all began. The sequel opened to $4.1 million in IMAX theaters, which is only 8.6 percent of its full holiday weekend opening or North American gross so far. This is the highest since January 2020. It also brought in well over $1 million from s
