Posted By themoviesleuth 1290 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Is it possible to make a sequel to a beloved '80s comedy film thirty years after the fact and it capture the same magic as the original? In the case of Coming 2 America (2021) the answer is: not really. After the death of King Jaffe Joffer (James Earl Jones), Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) has been upgraded to King of Zamunda. Unfortunately, according to the law of the land, Akeem has no heir to the throne because he had all daughters and the heir must be a son. It turns out that Akeem had a drunken (and drug laced) one night stand while he was in Queens and it produced a son he never knew he had: Lavelle Junson (Jermiane Fowler). Akeem must travel to America once again to find his son and bring him back to Zamunda to marry the daughter of a rival nation to gain peace.

Zack Snyder's Justice League: No Theatrical Release Currently Planned

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  image courtesy WBWith only a couple weeks to go to until the release of Zack Snyder's four hour cut of his Justice League, it looks like fans might be ultimately disappointed with one of Warner Bros.' decisions surrounding the film's release. It's been known for a while that this massively extended vision of the super hero team up would hit HBO Max exclusively and will hopefully see a blu-ray and 4K home release. While the internet and social media is at war with itself over Snyder's cut of the film, it looks like Warner has officially decided to never give the project a theatrical release at all. Some had hoped for a limited cinematic jaunt or IMAX run with their favorite heroes. However, WB has decided to cut their already millions in losses to see the film only go to HBO Max

Based on the novel and young adult series, The Knife of Never Letting Go, a post Star Wars Daisy Ridley and Spider-Man star Tom Holland team up in the feature film that combines consistent Western tropes with science fiction, cult based religious themes, gender dynamics, and a troubled script that muddles its message of acceptance repeatedly. While Ridley and Holland do their damnedest to rise above the muck of a tonally problematic film, director Doug Liman mildly falters as he awaits production on his Edge of Tomorrow sequel to happen. This is not his best effort at all. Yet, the dynamic of cros

As frightening to receive as it is to give, trust can make or break any connection forged between two beings. Raya and the Last Dragon, a new animated adventure, posits that it can also make or break the fate of an entire culture. Disney’s latest animated feature, released both theatrically and available on Disney+ with a premium membership, is a dynamic and ambitious blend of action film, fantasy, and Eastern-inspired legend. Starring a young heroine named Raya (voiced by Kelly Marie Tran) and a silly, endearing water dragon named Sisu (voiced by Awkwafina), the film takes cues from series like Avatar: The Last Airbenderand The Dark Crystal: Age

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - images courtesy WBWe are just days away from Zack Snyder's vision of Justice League hitting HBO Max exclusively. After a fan petition unlike any other and years of waiting, the director's original idea for DC'S most famous heroes will finally see the light of day. With some claiming its an act of ego and others clamoring to get their eyes on the 4 hour movie as soon as possible, one thing is certain: We have never seen something like this in the history of film. Going from a shortened version by Joss Whedon to a totally fresh new take on a movie, there's never really been a pop culture phenomenon quite like this one. While the internet still battles it out over Snyder and his film works, one thing is for sure. People will be watching to see if the Justice League sees creative redemption i

The Last Dragon Soars and Crashes: Disney's Latest Dominates The U.S. Box Office, Burns Out in China

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - image courtesy DisneyThe box office continues to struggle in various parts of the world as the pandemic continues to cause damage to finances for all the major studios. This weekend saw Disney's latest animated release, Raya and The Last Dragon take a foothold in the domestic U.S. box office with it's $8.6 million take but it still is only a shade of what it would have done in normal times.A big animation hit for that studio would typically take in much higher opening grosses. Unfortunately, things may really start to improve until the summer when vaccines are much easier to come by. It did come in the number one position beating out any other competition from other newcomers like Chaos Walking and Boogie, but will need to recoup major money from its Disney+ premium rental. Strangely

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Image Courtesy of Third Window FilmsUjicha is not well known outside of Japan, with his films not getting much play outside of film festivals. He uses a style of animation called Gekimation which consists of stylized and detailed cut outs that are paraded around over lush backgrounds. Gekiga, the root word, refers to adult-oriented manga and Ujicha's work is similar in that it uses whimsical and colorful deigns to tell brutal and nihilistic stories. On paper it sounds simplistic, but in practice, it is quite striking and compelling. Each character has hundreds of variations and Ujicha likes to use real liquids to represent body fluids like blood, vomit, and pus. This mixed media style approach feels like fourth-wall breaking, taking the characters from paper to organic real life.Burning B
