Take the Trip

https://lovinglivinggreen.com - I have always loved the quote, “Life is short; buy the shoes.” In my younger days, I promise, I bought my fair share of shoes. When I see quotes like this these days, I laugh because this is like my excuse to buy something I probably shouldn’t.

Vacationing with Three Oaks Farm in Coastal Georgia

Posted By lovelivegreen 2234 days ago on Travel

https://lovinglivinggreen.com - On a recent trip to Jekyll Island, our family was visiting the wharf. I went up to a ticket window thinking it was for the dolphin tour (which was amazing by the way!). I was at the wrong window, but I began chatting with Whitney, who works with Three Oaks Farm. Due to my mistake, we were able to experience Three Oaks Farm, and our great vacation became one we will never forget!

Kumana Avocado Sauce

https://lovinglivinggreen.com - With cookout season upon us, it is time to bring a game changer to the party, Kumana Avocado Sauce. When first presented with the sauce, I gave some strange looks too. Avocado Sauce… is that bottled guacamole? Should the ketchup and mustard move over?

Island Living: Isle of Wight

Posted By SpecificJust 1782 days ago on Travel

https://nothingspecificjustrandom.blogspot.com - Flashback two years ago, I remember I was given an option to choose which part of the UK to submit my job application to. I had a choice to be assigned in the mainland and an option to work in the Isle of Wight. I love beaches and prefer tranquil places so I obviously chose the latter. And location-wise, it was still one of the best decisions I made.

Shipwrecks to Camel Treks – Navigating Mauritania's Highlights Part 4 – Chinguetti's Old Library and a Medical Emergency

http://www.teamhazardridesagain.com - In the past, Chinguetti was not only a major trading post in the Sahara Desert, but a major stop on the pilgrimage path to Mecca. It is also considered the seventh holiest Muslim city in the world.

There are 5 ancient libraries in Chinguetti, but only one or two that regularly open to the public to give tours. There are thousands of books in the care of the families that built these desert libraries so long ago. Most of them are religious, but many cover subjects like astronomy and mathematics. Muslim scholars from every field are represented here.

While the curator had some wonderful stories, when my husband's blood sugar plummeted, we brought some drama of our own.

Toraja Funerals – Life, Death and Mummies in Indonesia

Posted By TeamHazardRides 2486 days ago on Travel

http://www.teamhazardridesagain.com - The people of Toraja, Indonesia, on the island of Sulawesi have an amazing approach to death. Funerals last four days and take years to plan, during which time the dead remain in the home; animals are sacrificed and hundreds of people attend. Corpses of ancestors are removed from their cliffside graves and re-dressed regularly. Even the baby graves of the past have an amazing story.

We toured the region with a local who showed us everything - and we share it with you.
