http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Let's start this off by saying we're not reporting that he's going to star as the title character. But it's breaking that George Clooney and his Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov have just boarded the Legendary Pictures reboot of Buck Rogers as producers on the upcoming slate of projects. It's been in the developmental phases for some time now. While we cannot confirm any of the news other than what The Hollywood Reporter has posted tonight, rumors are swirling that Clooney is also looking to star as the classic science fiction adventure character. Legendary is working on numerous projects including a television series, a movie franchise and an animated show. Brian K. Vaughan is currently writing the first project which seems to be the TV part of a continued Buck Rogers

The pair have now signed a deal alongside Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment to turn Stephen King's The Talisman into a new series on the streaming outlet. Paramount Television Studios is actively pushing to adapt the book as a multi-season show on the streamer. Stranger Things writer and executive producer Curtis Gwinn will be writing and serving as the showrunner on the series. Matt and Ross Duffer will be on board as producers via their Monkey Massacre Productions creative banner. Apparently, Spielberg himself may be also boarding in a producer role for The Talisman. Box Office Monsters: Godzilla vs Kong Crushes Its Opening Weekend, Theaters Roar Back To Life

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - photo courtesy WB The U.S. domestic box office showed signs this weekend in the form of two mega-monsters. The film from Warner Bros. and director Adam Wingard has gone on to gross the biggest opening weekend since the beginning of the global pandemic. As people get a little more comfortable heading back out into the public, theaters are finally seeing some lifeblood flow in the form of ticket sales. The long awaited dual between Godzilla and Kong ended up bringing in roughly $48 million over the extended Easter weekend which means the summer blockbuster season may start to heat up. This is also a good sign that the dual streaming and theatrical openings are actually working. While it's not nearly what the movie would have done during normal times, it's definitely a step in the right

New Releases: Vicious Fun (2021) - Reviewed

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  When it comes to killers, there are all different kinds: male, female; young, old; handsome, hideous.  While there are patterns many of them follow, you can never quite be certain if the person walking past you on the street is a murderer based on looks alone.  They usually look like us, go to the same places as us, and do the same activities as us.In Vicious Fun, we see this notion brought to screen, coated with a thick layer of '80s horror nostalgia for added style.  Joel (Evan Marsh) is a horror film critic whose life essentially becomes a horror film after a night of bad decisions.  Pining after his beautiful roommate, Joel’s compelled to follow her dreamy, charismatic boyfriend Bob (Ari Millen) to a Chinese restaurant, where he gets so drunk t

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Steven Adam Renkovish's feature debut is a landmark dissertation on the nature of bereavement and the private, unknowable terrors of mental illness.  Working with virtually no budget, Renkovish and his rogue's gallery of cast and crew have managed to create a singular work of art that blends the sensitivities of Bergman, the nihilism of Von Trier, and the subtle wrongness of Roeg.  The result is a cinematic dirge that explores grief as a character more than a concept and how its existence affects those who remain in the wake of a tragedy.  Featuring an unforgettable central performance, an ambiance of dread, and immaculate visual compositions, The Awakening of Lilith is one of the most sobering viewing experiences of the year. Lilith loses a loved one unexpe

One Re-Release To Rule Them All: Lord of the Rings Remastered Trilogy In IMAX Tomorrow

Posted By themoviesleuth 1178 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  With theaters still hurting from the pandemic, re-releases of big budget movies seem to continue drumming up interest. It's been announced that the Lord of the Rings trilogy remaster will be in IMAX cinemas beginning tomorrow. The Peter Jackson film trilogy went on to earn nearly $3 billion in its theatrical run and will now get another proper cinematic jaunt as it hits most major theater chains beginning on Friday, February 5th 2021. Considering there are no big studio releases this weekend, this could prove to be a success with no other real competition. After this trilogy garnered such massive successes, Jackson went on to a three movie arc around The Hobbit. Amazon is currently working on their very own Lord of the Rings television series that is said to have a massive budg

Resident Evil: New Movie Title Revealed and Plot Details Announced

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Not too long ago a new Resident Evil movie and television series were announced. When the pandemic broke out, things went awfully silent for a while. Well it looks like we're finally starting to get more details about the brand new RE movie as horror director Johannes Roberts is finally breaking his silence about his movie. His previous works include the two 47 Meters down shark attack movies and the sequel The Strangers: Prey at Night. He's moved on to bigger things by taking on the Resident Evil franchise and will hopefully continue on with more sequels. Just yesterday it was announced that the new film will be called Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City. It's been said that this will play much more closely to the source material. Roberts revealed at SXSW that this will be

Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now: Shoplifters of the World (2021) - Reviewed

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com - Stop me if you think you've heard this one before..... This spring’s release of Shoplifters Of The World drops on streaming this weekend after several delays amid a global pandemic that’s seen the indie film world struggle to cope. This tongue in cheek copycat of Airheads (1994) is a disappointing effort that won’t even satisfy die hard Smiths fans like myself. Instead, the movie is a ninety minute affair in the purest of annoyances. The dialogue is not natural and stilted. Characters are one sided caricatures of routinely standard ‘80s tropes, personal sexuality is assaulted by terrible cliches and branding, all the while attempting to cash in on current retro trends.Paired with awful acting and writing all around, the only saving grace is the soundtrack by The Smiths, whi

King Kong (1976) Scream Factory Extras Revealed: 2k Restoration of the Extended Cut and More

Posted By themoviesleuth 1126 days ago on Entertainment

http://www.spoilerfreemoviesleuth.com -  Courtesy: Scream Factory1976's King Kong has enjoyed quite the critical re-evaluation in recent years, and deservedly so. For a long time its sole cultural legacy was that of a notorious Hollywood flop that almost ended Jessica Lange's career before it started, and stood alongside Dune as proof for many that producer Dino De Laurentiis could not be trusted to successfully helm a Hollywood blockbuster. But in recent years, the internet discourse around De Laurentiis's Kong has changed significantly, as people have revisited the film for the first time in years and had the collective reaction, "hey, wait a second, this is actually pretty good!" That was certainly my experience when I watched it in the early days of social distancing about a year ago.Courtesy: ParamountTo be clear, it
